Steve Sanders JV Assistant Coach

Sanders a medium
Bio As a native of Phoenix, Coach Sanders grew up on the north side, and graduated from Sunnyslope High School in 1983, where he played three years at the Varsity level as an offensive guard and a defensive nose guard. Coach Sanders began coaching youth sports in 2006, and this is his second year as the Charger JV line coach. His experience playing and coaching, and his passion for working with kids has given him a solid foundation to help these Chargers become a cohesive unit that will allow the team to win the close game. Coach Sanders has a degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a degree in Maintenance & Mechanical Engineering from RSI. He is a veteran of the US Army where he proudly served his country for 12 years as a helicopter Crew Chief. Coach Sanders worked as an Aircraft Mechanic for over 20 years. He transitioned to a close tolerance inspector 15 years ago and is now the Facilities Manager at the U-Haul Technical Center in Tempe. Coach Sanders' wife, Sheila, is a Charger alumni and is heavily involved in the Charger Touchdown Booster Club. They have three boys Cheyn (16), Mathias (14) and Kavin (11), who will all be Charger legacies. Go Big Red, Go Big Blue, Go McClintock High!
