||With over 18 years of coaching experience, Coach Smith enters his 1st season as McClintocks Head Coach. Previously, he was at Mesa Community College working with the Quarterbacks. Prior to MCC, Coach Smith was at Mesquite High School in Gilbert, AZ for 4 years as the Assistant Head Coach, Quarterbacks Coach and Offensive Coordinator. Coach graduated in 1995 with a BA in Sociology from the University of Iowa. Coach Smith played Quarterback and Special Teams at the University of Southern California from 1991-1993 and the University of Iowa from 1993-1995. He attended Loyola High School, Los Angeles and graduated in 1991. Coach Smith was the Tight Ends/Offensive Tackles coach and Special teams coordinator for six seasons at the University of Missouri 1995-2000 season. He was the Wide Receivers coach and Special Teams Coordinator at Arkansas State University during the 2001 season. Smith is the son of former Tulane, U of A, USC and Missouri Head Football Coach; Larry Smith. He teaches Special Education and PE and is working on his Masters in Education through the University of Phoenix. Coach Smith has 3 boys; Preston is a Freshman Free Safety at Weber State, Braxton is a Junior Linebacker at Perry High School and Brody is 14 and is in 8th grade. Coach Smith also owns a business called the Larry Smith Coaching Academy. The LSCA puts on clinics for youth football coaches across the country in order to teach safety through proper techniques and fundamentals.
